Hi guys,

I ordered a Corsair 600T White, and apparently it supports front panel USB 3.0 but with passhtrough. What does this mean? Do I have to plug the USB 3.0 cable into the back of the case? I would prefer to just have a front panel USB3.0 connected directly to the motherboard. Is this possible with the 600T?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Pass through means it goes to the outside of the case and plugs into the motherboard. The product though may have been updated to support the internal header. If it doesn't, you can get a little adapter to convert it to the USB 3.0 port to the actual header.

How much does this adapter cost and where can I get it?

Like I said, the case could've been updated to support it internally. So don't order the adapter just yet, until you know for sure it's external.

Is there any way of checking without receiving the case first? This is the first case upgrade I've done in years (had a CM 690 II for 3 years) so I was pretty excited about getting front panel USB 3.0 at last, but then I heard that it was a passthrough...

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I tried looking on Newegg and couldn't see the connector and the "details" tab doesn't state whether it's internal or external.

I don't see anything about an update being put out for it.

At the time, no standardized internal header was created. So companies improvised and produced the pass through.

You will have to run the cable out of the back of the case and then plug it into the usb 3, however, you can get USB 3.0 headers to USB 3.0 connectors adapters.
