new mechanical keyboard

fehllyy

hi everyone,

I am getting a a new key board (mechanical) and would like to know what my best bet would be (brand, switches, models etc.). I am currently interested in the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (2014 edition). My budget is around $130 Australian dollars ($96.30 US dollars). My location is Australia (if that helps at all)

Cheers

Ajax ;)

Dont get the blackwidow. The keys arent great and the build quality isnt there anymore. I have a 2013 model and love it, but after that they went with their own keys and the quality went down. Get a Corsair K70.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

I'd go to a local hardware store and try different switches. There is no "best", there's what you like and what you don't like. Steelseries makes good keyboards, corsair etc.

My Rig: AMD Ryzen 5800x3D | Scythe Fuma 2 | RX6600XT Red Devil | B550M Steel Legend | Fury Renegade 32GB 3600MTs | 980 Pro Gen4 - RAID0 - Kingston A400 480GB x2 RAID1 - Seagate Barracuda 1TB x2 | Fractal Design Integra M 650W | InWin 103 | Mic. - SM57 | Headphones - Sony MDR-1A | Keyboard - Roccat Vulcan 100 AIMO | Mouse - Steelseries Rival 310 | Monitor - Dell S3422DWG

in Australia the k70 is like $185 and $250 for the RGB version (plus they aren't that easy to find)

I have read good things about the Cooler Master QuickFire, but I don't know how much would it cost you there, the one with the red switches is $89.99 US dollars.

As some said already, try to go to a store and have a feel of the switches first, because they do feel different, I have two K70s, one with red switches and another with brown, and even though, both feel great to play and type, you can feel the difference, reds are very sensitive and linear, while browns give you a little bump when they activate, blues are like brown, except that the blues make a clicky sound when they activate.
