I have a 680 and have been plagued with tearing (not bad on some games but just terible on others)

is there anything that I can do other than vsynce to reduce the amount of tearing

I have it overclocked to 1124Mhz on the GPU and 6028Mhz on the memory

Use Precision X to set a frame rate target.

What games does this occur on? I don't really recommend vsync due to its noticeably higher input lag.

It gets bad on borderlands 2,  I dont like vsync cause it seems like it stutters sometimes

adaptive v-sync exists for a reason, but the tearing could also be contributed to your overclock

ill try lowering my overclock but it seems mild considering it started at 1084Mhz out of box

You need to either limit your framerate or use V-Synch, you can enable V-Synch in any game, you can limit your framerates using dynamic V-Synch in the drivers or Nvidia inspector.

adaptive seems to work good, i just hate when it jumps from 60 to 30 that stutter that happens but i guess thats easier to live with than tearing lol

Borderlands 2 will easily run past 120FPS with a 680. This seems to be the issue.

I don't think it's necessary. Remember that you'd be reducing your performance in other games by doing this.

If capping your maximum FPS doesn't increase input lag, that'd be the best option.

Adaptive V-Synch does not cause an abrupt transition from 60 to 30, that's what regular V-Synch does & that's why dynamic V-Synch is better.
