computer keeps randomly losing power

My computer keeps randomly powering off. the screen just goes blank than all the lights in my computer turns off. Then I can't turn it back on. I have to reset the surge suppressor it is connected to than it can turn on. Any solutions? Is it as bad power supply or is it the surge suppressor's fault? (BTW it is a old surge suppressor)

how much stuff is plugged into the circuit you are running it off? Any washing machines pool filters ect.
