I am looking at buying a new SSD for my PC and was curious about the new Intel 750 SSD.

My current build:

i7 4790k CPU

GTX 980 SLI

Z97 Maximus VII Formula motherboard

8GB's RAM

AX 850 Power supply

Is the Intel 750 SSD going to work well with that build, heard that it only gets the higher performance with X99 boards along with something to do with having lower speeds when in anything other than the 2nd PCI-e slot although I don't know how much of that is true. Also what is the difference between the form factors of the two different drives?

ASUS said that the X99 and Z97 will support it. Also it is only for the Z97 ASUS Motherboard at the moment.
