What wattage PSU do i need?

Wiggyweir

Hello all

I am in the process of buying the parts for my PC and i am struggling to work out what PSU i need, The Specs for my PC will be;

Intel 4790k

Either a 980ti or a fury X

an SSD (I havent chosen one yet)

Probably a mechanical drive

I havent built a PC in a while now and don't want to fry my system, I have read that the minimum required PSU for a 980ti is a 600w, but on linus' comparison between the two video cards he used a 500w (I think....?)

i know ill need higher if I'm overclocking and what not but I'm not planning on doing that anytime soon

any input will be appreciated

GPU around 270 W Max. Peak

CPU 120 W

50 W or more for the rest depending on your setup.

Minimum would be 450 W, but of course it isn't optimal to run a PSU at around 100 % load

550 W would be ideal

EDIT: This is for 980 Ti, I don't know about Fury X consumption

This is a signature.

Well it really depends on if you get the Fury X or the 980 Ti. The Fury X uses a lot more power than the 980 Ti. Either way I would recommend a 750W.
