Hey,

does anyone here own a Freesync / Gsync monitor?

I am thinking about getting one but I don't know if it is worth the price point. So does anyone use it and can tell me if it has changed their lifes?

I can see the difference in synthetic benchmarks but do you see it in gaming while not searching for it?

I have a G-Sync monitor, I like G-Sync, everything feels so smooth

Dunno if I would buy a monitor JUST for G-Sync though

The fact that mine came with it, was just a cherry on-top, I was after that 144hz IPS panel :)

Well i would be able to tell you if my bloody monitor was to arrive!

Been sitting here waiting for 3 weeks now

but if you can get g-sync/free-sync u might aswell get it. It will make a difference but depending on your budget situation you will either think its worth it or not.

Freesync is cheaper btw.

I'm thinking of getting a 4k 40" screen or 27" 1440p with freesync (27" 4k is pointless in my opinion), the first one would be even cheaper (similar image quality). So it is not just "on top" but instead of size / resolution so it would have to be worth it.

I had a ROG Swift, but sold it in pursuit of getting a 3440x1440 34" IPS Curved monitor instead, G sync was great, made things nice and smooth, however I wouldn't let it be the deciding factor in me buying a monitor or not, for me IPS is still a more important factor than g sync was.

But if you have the money to get one then sure why not, I assume you haven't purchased your GPU yet? Freesync will only work with AMD cards and G Sync with Nvidia cards

The deciding factor for me would be the (reasonable) availability. I'd love to have usable 4k (32" and up), but 32" freesync costs around 1000$ or more while I can get 40" 4k with nearly IPS-like color accuracy for 500€, 40" freesync does not even exist. So I'd either go 27" ips freesync 1440p or 40" 4k - so size vs Freesync.

Yeah exactly pricing does kinda suck right now, the largest Freesync (non ultra wide) available right now is the Samsung U32E850R (PLS Panel, 4k 60Hz), which costs £900 so it will be a decent bit north of $1000 :/

For 27" Freesync IPS 1440p your only option there is the Asus MG279Q ROG Dominator, all other 27 or 28 inch 1440p or even 4k freesyncs are TN Panel, you'd be looking at about $599 for that (£480 in the UK) that is also a 144Hz monitor though, so maybe worth it.

For me 27" is the perfect size height wise, but if you're used to something larger then maybe it isn't for you
