Limiting SSH access to VPN, Ubuntu.

I am looking for a way to limit SSH access to VPN users only, I did change SSHD config once and I dont remember what I've done but I had to reinstall server afterwards.

I am getting around 5-10K failed attempts a day I thought I might as well change that.

Those failed attempts are normal, but maybe a bit on the high side from my experience. Now your actual question, there are several ways to achieve this. You could set sshd up to only listen on the VPN interface or use Iptables to drop all inbound traffic to port 22 unless it originates from your VPN subnet (make sure to not lock yourself out ).
