Has anybody other than me noticed the only music used in linus tech tips is from Monstercat the record label? I wonder why that is but i love MCM anyway. Why do you think they do that?

its very simple, to put music on monetized content (or any content for that matter really.) you have to have an agreement with the artist.

monstercat (and approaching nirvana) are very open, and allow you to do a bunch of stuff. theres a maintained list somewhere of music for streaming and youtube.

MCM is a very accommodating label that will basically give you a free license to use there music in videos and streams as long as you provide a link some where. Many streamers and youtubers have started using MCM music for this reason, on top of the fact that they have a lot of music and its REALY good.

MCM embraced internet culture as part of there core values and its one of the many reason they are the best EDM label in the world atm.

Short answer; its free, legal  (with permissions) and high quality music.
