If you don't mind the headphone not being portable than the mrspeakers mad dog+ mod mic is probobly right up your ally with its very tight and powerful bass also thanks to mrspeakers upgrade system you can upgrade it in the future to the mad dogs pro and maybe even alpha dog.

Hello!

 

I'm looking for a new headset but I really don't know what I should get and I don't know any places nearby where I can test different ones.

 

I'm looking for a headset that's going to be used for gaming, listening to music and watching movies. I play a lot of FPS games and I like action movies. When it comes to the music I like music with a lot of bass in it so the bass has to be good but at the same time I want the mids and highs to be clear as well. They need too be closed back as well because I live in a quiet noisy enviroment.

I'm currently using the Creative Fatal1ty gaming headset.

 

My budget is somewhere around $300.

Welp I can recommend the HyperX Cloud (not II) since its pretty much a Takstar Pro 80. But for a budget that high, may I recommend the AKG Q701 + mod-mic? I'm willing to bet that you're gonna be able to soundwhore much etter than the HyperX

My Grading System on headphones: SS= 98-100, S= 95-97, A+= 91-94, A= 86-90, A-= 81-85, B+= 76-80, B= 71-75, B-= 66-70, C+= 61-65, C= 56-60, C-= 51-55, D+= 46-50, D= 41-45, D-= 36-40, F+= 31-35, F= 26-30, F-= 21-25, Tier 1 crap= 16-20, Tier 2 crap= 11-15, Tier 3 crap= 6-10, Dahell tier= 1-5, No hope= 0                 Nevertheless, "Enjoy what you enjoy without starting some silly culture war" - Lachlanlikesathing. If you Recommend the M50/X in a thead, I would probably send you a dick pic.

Thaks! I'll check those out. And yes headphones + mod-mic is okay as long as it's within my budget :)

I checked them out and there's one thing I didn't like about the AKG's that I didn't mention in the question. I need closed back headphones.

I'll check what I can recommend. But if I may ask out of curiosity, why do you want closed-backs?

Yeah, I got nothing. Hyper X Cloud (not II), maybe the Beyerdynamic DT 150 (been using these for CS:GO and BF4, pretty good soundstage... could be better, but then these headphones have been around much longer than how long I've lived), Takstar Hi-2050, maybe the Audio Technica ATH-A700X, Mad Dogs from mrspeakers.
