samsung evo ssd

Hi in my new pc i want to have a samsung evo ssd. But the way my pc is going to be powerd it will be plugged out for the most of the time. So it wont get any power, is this good for my ssd and will i keep my stuff on the ssd. I read that if the pc is off and doesnt get power the ssd will be wiped. Is this true?
