Hello guys, I need a new headset for music and gaming for under 200 bucks. The music quality is most important part, but I should also be able to wear it for 4h straight without my ears hurting. I had this problem with most of my headsets and I'm sick of this. It'd be nice if it had a mic, but I don't need it. Same goes for 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. I had the astro a40 in mind, but maybe you have some better options or experience with it.

Thanks for helping me on this.

PS. sorry for my bad english.

sms audio street by 50

EDIT: I have been using this over a year now.  10/10

You're lying to yourself.

Senhieser HD800 ? :)

If you know where to find real ones in good condition, give me a call. I will buy them right now. (oh, and I'd rather not buy stolen goods) :P

Amazon currently has a sale on the more expensive headphones

I would personally recommend the ATH-M50x or Sennheiser 598s as they have great soundstage and are really comfortable to wear

The downside is it doesn't have a mic on it

M50X has a terrible soundstage, especially for gaming. Also, the 518 sound just about the same, and cost significantly less.

@OP, just about any open back from Audio Technica in that price range would be very comfy.

Thank you for answering so quickly.

I've only heard good things about sennheiser but the g4me one is to expensive. Also, I won't be able to buy 200 headphones and a mic, I don't want to spend that much money. Are there any mics you could recommend me? I can't use a stationary mic so somthing like this would be best sony ECM-CS3.

PS. Is it worth it to buy a 7.1 surround sound card? oh yeah I'd prefer a closed back

get sennheiser hd518. They are ~$100, so they might be within your budget :) surround sound cards are only worth it if you have actual surround speakers, and even then, the on board audio would work just fine.
