Trying to rip some DVD's to my hard drive with handbrake.

Its been fine until recently, now when ever I try to rip something, the created video file just has loads of artifacts in and stops and starts all over the place every second, even just doing a 10second preview for testing, it has loads of graphical artifacts and stops and start for the entire 10 seconds.

There is nothing wrong with the discs or my handbrake settings, the DVD plays fine on its own.

Tried different software (handbrake alternatives) and it still does exactly the same thing?

Doesn't matter what disc I use, the outcome is still the same, used multiple different media players, VLC, MPC etc, still the same.

Any ideas?

Are your DVDs copy protected?

Handbrake takes care of that.

As I said, I've never had issues in the past with any DVD's.

I even tried some of the DVD i already ripped, and i'm getting this artifact and sticking..

Tried that.

Doesn't do anything different.

I would upload a preview but I don't think I'm allowed to upload it here...

Just take a screenshot of the artifacting, is there any issues when you play the DVD?

Nope no issues when playing, the DVD discs are fine.

Even discs I've ripped in the past are doing this now.

Damn... somethings not right. Sorry I can't really help you any further, hopefully some else can. Good luck.

One thing, probably won't help but have you tried a different media player?

@Matsy Did you recently upgrade from one handbrake version to another? Maybe try an older version.

Already tried, still the same :/

And nothing else has changed at all? No GPU changes, CPU Frequency changes? Eliminate the variables. Do you have another machine to try it on?

I got a another 670 for SLI the other day (handbrake was doing this before)

I doubt its anything to do with hardware.

It works on the computer downstairs yes, but I can't use that one (its not mine)

I've even done a fresh re-instal when I got my 670, so theres no software issues or virus

Try disabling SLI.
