Just bought a DSLR

So i went to Mong Kok Hong Kong yesterday

I bought a 700D body and a Sigma 18-250 sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 dc macro os for HKD-$6480 around 1060 CAD

was it a good deal for a travel lens ?

The camera guy dealer recommend me the package

I am planing to get a 50mm F1.8 STM when the price drops later on, is that a smart choice

That lens isn't really recommended but if you can stop it down in good light (Increase your Aperture #) it should still generate good results. By f11 it should sharpen up considerably.

nice thing about lenses is they hold value well if you take care of them if that particuler one isnt working out for you.

when i saw photos of the lens they seemed pleasing, but it seems i can't reproduce images of the same quality

i was going to go for 2 separate but the dealer there told me to get one lens fits all

Sure, although you could just get the older cheaper version, still a great lens and very cheap

Never listen to a dealer

hmm not sure why yours dont look as good, could be how you are shooting, or maybe they are all processed RAW
