As long as you're grounded (just touch a large piece of metal), and don't drop or force anything, you should be fine. Just be careful when putting in the CPU, and don't drop a hard drive ;P

Thanks! How often will I have to switch out parts? I want a computer that will last me a long time without needing to upgrade.

lol, what he said...  just don't drop things.  :D

Grounding is easy... every time you are going to pick up a part/component, just touch something metal first... like bare metal on your case, or an unpainted doorknob.

You won't have to upgrade often, like I said earlier maybe every couple of years you might want to upgrade your video card if you are unhappy with performance.

What is affordable? This is the cheapest decent 27 inch monitor you can get.

An affordable monitor to me would be $350 or less fyi

That would be a 2560x1440 resolution, or a 144Hz refresh rate...

Find someone to build it with.  It can be fun, and you get better performance.

Oh look what is on my clipboard:

That is a "gaming" monitor... it has a high refresh rate, so when you get 120 FPS in a game, it will matter.  It will contribute to a "smoother" gaming experience.  The downside is that it is a TN panel, so the colour reproduction might suffer.  Some TN panels are really good for colour though.

So IPS is better for colour (normally), and high refresh rate (144Hz) is better for making use of high end GPUs(graphics cards).

If you want a 2560x1440, IPS panel, 144Hz display... there is one on the market now.... $750.  I was wrong, it is $800:  http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-xb270hubprz

I would recommend a 2560x1440 IPS panel, 60Hz refresh rate.  The higher resolution will enrich your experience in front of it no matter what you are doing. A high refresh rate (144Hz) is beneficial only some of the time.
