So I am looking to build a PC for mostly gaming with the small amount of 3d modelling/design/rendering

My budget is 2000$ CAN

The build must include a intel I7 because the 3d software does not work well with i5s or amd

Most of the games that i will be playing are GTA, Ark survival, Battlefield, Assetto Corsa, Project cars, Arma 3, etc..

Finally, i would also like to get a monitor with the pc

here is what i have though of so far: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/fysfZL

Thanks for any suggestions and help ahead of time.

Snip

Seems you have some room (funds-wise) for a SSD, which is always a good idea. For gaming you might also want to consider a 4790K due to the possibility of overclocking, if you don't intend to do that then you won't need a Z type motherboard. So either get a cheaper motherboard or a more expensive CPU. If getting a more expensive CPU will make you exceed your budget, you might consider buying a Windows key from a site like G2A, which will save you a lot of money.

You can get a Xeon E3

-it's cheaper than an I7

-still has Hyper Threading

-has more than enough compute cores for 3d software

-did I mention it's cheap

i would rather just go with the hybrid i might add in ssd's later but in terms of the cpu overclocking i do not intend on doing that so what mobo would you suggest with this cpu

Do you intend to add another GPU in the future? If so, stick with the Z series motherboards. If not, you can choose a B85, H81 or H97 which are usually cheaper.

H-series (and I think B-series as well) often do support Crossfire, but not SLI.

This is what I would get.. will allow sli.. If you need to save, you can drop the monitor back some and get a 25"IPS 1440p in budget or maybe a 24"TN @144hz depending on whats more relevant to you (res and image quality vs fast and smooth)

Firstly.. don't buy windows from a store.. there is mocrostoftsoftwareexchange (i think) on reddit where you can buy proper legal copies for 10 - 15 bucks.

Don't go for the cx from corsair.. Not a good psu really. EVGA B2 is probably the minimum I would go, especially on your budget.

Again, if fast paced games are your thing.. then this with the 144hz screen is for you.. If not, look at IPS.. plenty of room in the budget for a copy of windows and even a bump to HDD / SSD capacity.

Also look into Lightboost (google will help lots) or ULMB (ultra low motion Blur) Makes a BIIG difference in the smoothness of games.
