Installing Asus gtx970

So I just built my first pc. Everything's working fine, just having problems with the display. 

 

Only VGA works from the mobo, hdmi won't display anything.

 

And when the gtx970 is installed nothing can be displayed on the monitor

are your plugging your display cable into the graphics card?

Maybe a dumb comment, but you are using the display ports on the 970 right?

You can also try install in the drivers from nvidia

I only have vga and hdmi, I've been plugging in a hdmi into the graphics. I's switched between the two (mobo and gpu) and still no display when the gpu is installed.

well take out the VGA you do not use that port with a graphics card in.just use your hdmi in the back of your graphics card

I've done that many times, when i boot nothing appears on the screen. Only time i can get display is when the gpu is uninstalled and im using VGA.

Yes, I've unplugged the cables from the psu and changed the cables a few times and tried basically everything i could think of.

So de vga on the GPU works but no the hdmi?

...wait the GPU dont have a vga

I said the Vga from the mobo, that's the only display I can get. (When the gpu isnt installed)

Ok so you have removed your vga completely from the monitor and computer right?

Have you made sure that you have the right display output selected on your monitor?

what cables do you have plugged into the 970 is it 2x4 pin? or 1 6+2 pin or 1 straight 8 pin?

have you tried another HDMI cable?

I have been using a 8pin for the gpu.

And Yes I have tried another hdmi cable.

 

The thing is, hdmi doesnt work on the mobo too

It sounds like its with your monitor then can you try it else ware or play with the settings on your monitor
