I'm wondering if I throw 2400Mhz memory into my motherboard, will it be downscaled to 1600?

I'm using the following motherboard: MSI ZH77A-G43   http://www.amazon.com/MSI-LGA1155-USB3-0-Motherboard-ZH77A-G43/dp/B009LEKL3M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436494679&sr=8-1&keywords=msi+zh77a-g43

It says "Memory: 4x DDR3-2400(OC)/2200(OC)/2000(OC)/1800(OC)/1600/1333/1066" So it says that it can take 2400mhz memory, but only if it's 1600 that's overclocked? Or does it just mean it can't be overclocked any further after 2400? or?.... Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

It means the motherboard manufacturer is not guaranteeing speeds past that point even if the memory controller on the CPU could handle more. You will probably need to use some sort of XMP profile in order to utilize the 2400MHz speed capability. Otherwise, it'll likely be at 1600MHz by default.
