Why overpay for x99 when if youre only gaming you could grab an i5

 

also if youre gonna drop 1.5k on a build, do the entire build a favor and get a fully modular psu with nice looking cables.

I'm not sure what you mean in your first sentence EDIT: nvm, I misread. I may also do some streaming and editing.

yes, if you really want to stick to X99, if you think you'll need the extra threads (which i doubt, the i7-4790K is a very strong processor that can stream games on very high quality) i would suggest this motherboard instead, and drop the saved money on a better GPU:

Lol, people tend to get really heavy-handed with streaming related hardware...

 

Honestly, more often it's your internet bandwidth/upload speed that is going to hold you back long before hardware in terms of stream stability and quality.

 

I think you're overspending, but it's your money; professional quality streaming has more to do with content than hardware.
