Black White Vertical Lines

My new PC has been running fine except just now the entire screen just changed to consistent vertical black and white lines.

This was outputted from the GPU via DVI, and also from the motherboard via VGA.

I restarted the PC and it started up fine.

 

I opened up the PC and there are no cables loose.

 

I would REALLY like to know why this happened.

Is their any damage occurring to my parts?

 

 

Also I assume my specs will be listed below but if not can someone tell me how to

make that be displayed please.

Are you sure the monitor is taking input from the GPU? It doesn't need to be connected to the motherboard

I just connected the motherboard to test. Initially there was only a connection between GPU and Monitor.
