Hey guys!


This is my first build and I am very excited about it as I have only been able to game on my small laptop which is SUPER inadequate for my needs. Please tell me what you think, if i'm missing anything, or if you have any recommendations. Thanks!

If you're not doing rendering don't bother with the i7, and focus more on trying to squeeze your budget to an i5-4690k and a 980. You'll be much happier like that.

If you're not doing rendering don't bother with the i7, and focus more on trying to squeeze your budget to an i5-4690k and a 980. You'll be much happier like that.

No, I bought one and then threw it away. Gaming on PC you'll literally almost never need an optical drive and if you get one get a USB one because they're portable and don't ruin the aesthetic of your case.

How will I install my operating system without one?

You use the ISO of Windows and burn it to a USB using programs like ISO to USB and then when you boot up your computer select the USB drive as the boot drive and you'll install windows like that. It's like using a DVD but instead you're using a USB.
