I was thinking of getting dead second card ( just for looks of SLI :D ). IMO If you game at 1080p as I do, then wait until you need some more performance/significant price drop.

From what I have read, the Gigabyte G1 gaming 970 seems to be the best.  It overclocks the best, is the coolest because of the enormous cooler and THREE fans.  MSI is second, followed by Asus.  The G1 might be a bit louder because it doesn't' have the 0db no fan mode the msi and asus have, but it still will be quiet enough to live with.

there is a 0db no fan mod on the G1 you just have to flash a custom bios on it ;D

actually noise from strix, msi and G1 are the same under load. And all of them can run the 0Fanspin Mode on IDLE.

the G1 is just the coolest of them.

the only bad thing about it, is its length. (and maybe ram on its backside)

If you're still looking to buy a 970 you should look at getting a 980 they're getting around the same price but if you still want a 970 I'd suggest the 100ME from msi it's got a backplate and is a twin frozr v the fans won't turn on unless needed I have this cars personally and love it stays below 70c in gta v with very high settings and 2xmsaa
