I have rebuilt my PC as a watercooled beast with an uber mode switch on the cooling fans (over 7A of fans on the double and triple rads) and I was wondering if for folding at night if it would be worth throwing in my spare HD 7950 and attaching a stupidly massive fan to it. I sold one of my hd 7950s to my brother and I still have one left doing nothing. My new card is an r9 390x.

Yup, do it. It'll be a nice addition to your folding potential.

Wait, wait, wait. You SOLD a graphics card to your BROTHER? Couldn't you just give it to him? What kind of brother are you? (JK)

One that needed money for a waterblock. also I sold it to him for only 100 bucks so for an XFX HD 7950, thats pretty good.

I also have an old 8800 GT with an EK waterblock on it. is it worth doing anything on or is it too old?

For folding? Too old....

...but you can always use it for Boinc. There are projects for even such old GPUs.

Hmm... What would such a card sell for on the classifieds with its EK waterblock and arctic silver paste? Is it worth putting it up? I got it with my used WC loop and cosmos case because the previous owner couldnt be bothered to drain the loop to remove it.

I think a Brazillian member (me) really isn't a good person to ask advice about used prices in the US....

But I don't think it will sell. As it is WC, you'd expect that only a guy with a WC PC would buy it; however, WC dudes usually have a bunch of money lying around and can afford a decent card. At least that's my thought.
