Hey

My girlfriend needs a new PC, and i have two ASUS DCUII 660 ti OC laying around. And i planning on putting them into a new build, so they can get some use. I am thinking of

  • Corsair 750w PSU (can't remember exact model, but it is 80+ certified )
  • Corsair Carbide SPEC-02
  • Sandisk ultra II 120 GB SSD
  • Intel i5 4460 haswell refresh
  • ASUS Z87-A (C2)
  • Kingston Beast 16 GB (1600/1866, can't remember witch speed i have in my pail)

I know SLI may not be the best, but i have them because i wanted a show of a build with SLI when the 600 series came out. And 660 ti was the best dual GPU config i could afort. But i have them now, and i might as well put them to use. And in most cases it can't hurt to have two?

But anyway does this look like an okay balanced build?

Live in denmark, but prices is not so much a concern, i try to keep the expenses to a minimum but if something more expensive makes a ton more sense i'm properly gonna go with that.

But i love to hear some feedback

the 750w might not be enough i remember they require 600w psu, i would reccommend 850w for some overhead for other components.

660ti's are hungry cards when it comes to power. A 750 will probably do it, but just both of the 660ti's will use around 200 watts each at load easily. I'd advise getting a 850watt, but at 750, you really should be totally fine as long as its from a trusted manufacturer.

Nvidia stats 450 for entire system and asus stats 225 pr card, so that would be 550 worst case for graphics witch leave 200 for the rest of the system. I think that should be good?

It was running fine with a 3770k @ 4.2

I would add a HDD for mass storage and maybe consider getting only 8 GB of RAM, since that's still the sweetspot for gamers.

Otherwise it looks like a good build. Get some fans for enough ventilation. ;)

I have some HDD laying arround plus it is gonna be hooked up to a Server 2012 r2 essentials server, with lots of storage and off side backups, so storrage shuld be covered. As for the ram, i have the 2 8gb beast ram just laying and doing nothing, so yeah might as well but them in. ;)

Planing on getting some corsair quit editons fans, as many as i can fit ;)
