Study certain aspects of Linux distros that I don't get, because learning in your down time is awesome. I clean, I skate, I drink whiskey, find new projects. I think the main thing to do is to find something that you're interested in, but isn't too easy, so you spend time learning how to do it etc. I can't wait until my soldering iron arrives so I can start modding controllers.
