Thinking to switch to Intel.

AMD FX 8320 [CPU]

GTX 770 [GPU]

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P [MOBO]

 

Im thinking of the following;

 

Intel i7 4770K [CPU]

OR 

 

Intel i5 4670K [CPU]

 

 

MSI z97 Gaming 5 [MOBO]

GTX 970[GPU]

 

All i really do is play games. 

 

Most im willing to spend is £650

Get the 4690K instead.

Go with the i5, you won't be disappointed.  Actually get the i5 4690k not the 4670k.

If you only play games then get the i5 4690k, not the 4670k. No point in getting the 4670k really.

If you really want to switch go with an i5 for gaming and some nice cooling solution instead of the stock cooler. But honestly, maybe don't switch from the FX 8320 and just get a 980 instead. Just my thoughts on the matter. I might be wrong.

One more vote for 4690k instead of 4670k. I have one and it's pretty good. Or if you don't plan to overclock, go with something like 4690 and save yourself few bucks. You really don't need i7 for gaming. @Editie

if just games  i5 4690k will be fine, if you want productivity performance the i7 4790k will be better

 

You could also sell your GPU and get a new one while you are at it

 

will EASILY come in under budget (heck maybe even a new monitor too)

8320 will bottleneck 980 pretty hard

Oh, yes, that's a good idea. It'd stack up for any graphics card you want to upgrade to in the future. The 8320 I'm afraid will not. Grab a 4690K, though, as it has better overclocking characteristics than just plain old Haswell.

If you just play games go for the i5 4690K. However, if you aren't overclocking, I recommend going for the 4460 or 4590 instead and saving a few bucks
