Does PS3 Emulator exist?

no, there is none. the hardware is too difficult to emulate due to the custom cell processiong.

So, in order to emulate anything the person who is creating it must know really low level of how the system works damnn, never knew ty

i have the knowledge of the ps3 on an extremely low level, and the programming experience to build an emulator, but the biggest limitation is current pc hardware is not up to the challange because emulators do require a lot of brute force with just using the PC's vastly powerful hardware. we dont even have a stable gamecube emulator yet because  of this reason.

There actually is a PS3 emulator, but it's very alpha and has limits on what it can do.

You can see the source code here: https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3

There are tons of YouTube videos of people testing games, again this is very alpha so don't expect any commercial games on it for a while, but they have been making some great progress.

I hope to see a PS3 emulator in my life :P.

I also hope to see every other emulator fully working.

You're very welcome! If you're also interested/didn't know about this, there is a Xbox 360 emulator Xenia available on Github as well: https://github.com/benvanik/xenia

Again, early alpha, but some guy has been using the emulator on games that people request from him, playlist of his tests so far:

Oh man.... Do you have any benchmarks? Or 3D Mark scores? I need to see what it can do  ;)

i unfortunately cant benchmark it in terms of 3dmark firestrike or uniengine valley, for some reason, it artifacts and glitches. but in games, it doesn't. here are some

Crysis 3 high system spec- a smooth 56-58 FPS

Metro last light very high preset-  a solid 64-67 FPS

battlefield 4 4x AA, 16x FF ultra details-  54-60 FPS

minecraft with shaders, max settings, 32x AA - 44 FPS

minecraft should be the benchmarking standard. all settings turned up and its extreme its very intensive.

I wanna see modded skyrim numbers. That is the real deal  ;)

I've only played minecraft briefly but it was before I got my 280x. Skyrim is my benchmark now. Even the 290x crumbles on that setup

Honestly it depends on how far the devs can get. If there is some huge breakthrough with emulating then we could see a lot of game support in the next couple years, but if they aren't so lucky then we could be waiting X amount of years, X being indefinite.

I don't know how much power is needed for emulation, but I'm pretty sure it all depends on the emulator being able to emulate the system efficiently that determines how much power is needed. Just like games, emulators need to be optimized over time. Dolphin is a great example since on the same hardware I was using a year ago some games were just terrible to play with and you needed a stupidly high end machine to brute force emulation, but now a lot of the games work without issues.

So to answer your question, it varies by emulator to emulator and the devs behind the programs. I honestly don't see Xenia or RPCS3 being viable until 4-5 years from now.
