I had a few smart asses having a go at me because they thought that you could only see 60fps and that vsync was to slow down the monitor's refresh rate so we wouldn't see tearing of fps as they thought it was our eyes tearing the frames much like the effect of a camera pointed at a screen where you see lines and crap. They also thought that 120hz monitors were a hoax LOL

 

It just boggles the mind doesn't it?  How on earth do people come to these conclusions?

Yep, they are convinced by people who they follow on YouTube or webpages and some of the stories are unfortunately convincing, even Linus admitted to believing  it for some time

I am so glad they didn't have 120Hz monitors back when we were just starting with LCD, I would have been one of the ones claiming it all to be sales pitch and comparing them to monster cables.

 

EDIT: it's funny but if we did have 120Hz monitors back then it would all be marketing, I don't think there were many rigs capable of putting out more than 75 Fps. unless it was a low end game.
