So i was wondering if you could have 3 monitor eyefinity and 3 gpus (1 for each every monitor) and the monitor runs on it's own GPU so scaling would not be an issue because each Card is independent, (NOT CROSSFIRE) also you could have diffrent cards like 1 7970 for the middle monitor and a 7870 for each of the side monitors.

could this be possible? or are you guys just Going to kill My dreams? And this is the future.

In order for all the GPU's to work together in Crossfire they need to be the same model. So they would all have the be a 7970 or a 7870.

Someone correct me if wrong but a 7970 cannot be used in crossfire with a 7870 only a 7950.

A 7870 xt can and read the post all the Way i wrote they could be independent (not in crossfire)

no you can crossfire 7950 with 7970 and even with 7870 LE

no you can crossfire 7970-7950-7970-7870 LE(which uses 79xx gpu) as quad crossfire

OP: as far i am aware no its not possible to share the workload between cards because once you set your monitors for eyefinity they will act like one

Oh Okay sorry then, I thought it was like Nvidia graphics cards.

ive thought about this concept before. this issue is deciding where the picture begins for each monitor. so each gpu would have to figure out a hypothetical beginning point and render that part.
