Hello, how are you?

I am wonmdering if anyone installed a Fury X on a HAF XB Evo?

It's my case and I have some reservations about a fury X.
The AMD Manual states:

For proper mounting of the radiator assembly:
• Select a location that has the most open grills on the case for better air flow.
• The radiator assembly must be mounted above the graphics card and in a location that has minimal impedance to air flow.
• Do not mount the graphics card or radiator assembly above an open power supply to prevent power supply damage in case of coolant leakage.
• The radiator should be mounted on the side of the chassis so that the tubes exit from the bottom edge of the radiator.
• The radiator assembly must be correctly mounted inside the computer case and not left resting outside of the case.
• Do not change the placement of the fan on the radiator.

This is my system:

It has two intake 140mm fans and one exhaust spot for a 120mm fan.
I could mount the radiator on the exhaust spot, but then I would have two issues:

- The radiator would have to sit on it's side, since the HAF XB is a desktop case with the motherboard horizontal.
So, the in and out tubes woulb be to the side and not to the bottom as AMD recommends.

- The radiator would be right next to the CPU cooler and it the path of it's airflow, so it would take in hot air.

The other option would be to sacrífice na intake fan and mount the radiator as intake.
The tubes would be on the side, but it would take cold air from outside the case.

In either option, the radiator would be on the same level as the card, and not above.
Would it be an issue?

If I installed it as intake, would it be better in front of the CPU cooler? Or the card?

Can you please help me out?

Thanks.
Regards!

you can install it on the top part of the case, I don't think there should be any issues with that

But it will be in the direct path of the CPU cooler.

The radiator would be feeding from hot air form the CPU.

Wouldn't that increase the temps?

is there only one exhaust? O.o You really dont want it as intake, as you are effectively putting 300W of heat into the case.

The top has a mesh and holes for a 200mm fan.

I don't know if I could fit it there.

if you exhaust there, it would be best. convection would even take the air away from the case

This issue would be more dependent on the GPU's length, fan's and radiator's thickness and if you plan on doing push pull. Because of the small form factor there will be a bit of system heat wafting on to the radiator but it would be fine.

I would go in the back, exhaust

EDIT:

BTW i like your penetrators

Nothing to extreme.

Just the stock AIO 120mm unit of the Fury X.

The CPU I want to keep the HE01. Great temps and really quiet!

I would put two high static pressure fans in the front as intakes and use the back 120mm for the FURYx radiator, given that it is not blocked by the MOBO's heatsink, and the 200mm on top as an exhausts.
