So here's the deal; I have got a snail-pace internet connection (1 down, 0.5 up) and and it needs improving. I am still using the free router that the ISP gave to me so I am looking to replace it.

Would this make enough of a difference to warrent the price tag? If so, what router would you recommend?

Thanks in advance...

Hi. I have a similar case to you back home.

The main reason to upgrade the router is if you have connectivity issues and limited coverage.

As for the speed it wont really help much at all and is not worth the price you pay.

where are you based?

I went from a separate delink modem and belkin router to a netcomm combined unit and our speed more than doubled from 6 down to about 15 down.

We have fibre now and the ISP supplied router and get 30 down, (our plan is 30 down, 10 up).

A new modem/router might give us better signal strength but i havent looked into.

In any case any modem/router is more than likely better than ISP supplied hardware
