Yes. Form factor does not dictate usability per se. It's the plugs that matter from a functional standpoint.

yes, but do not expect great speeds, since laptop harddrives are slower than most desktop ones :)

Unless the rpm is lower, performance should be fairly similar (around the 100mb read and write)
