so I am building my PC and I got almost all of the parts here except for my Case and Mouse pad. I am planning to put my 2 GTX 980 Ti's in SLI to run ONLY my 4K display, I will be putting those 2 at the top of the motherboard where it can get the best performance (so I was told by a friend), Now I got 3 other monitors (all 1080P) that I plan to add to my build (there surrounding my 4k Display right now) with my old EVGA superclocked GT 740. is that going to hit my 2 GTX 980 Ti's hard within preformance or is that fine?

Won't make a difference. I got my two other monitors running on my iGPU and my main on my GPU.

NO NO NO NO. Plug all the monitors in to the main gfx card. You can't use 2 different GPUs. And a gt 740 can't power 3 1080p monitors anyway. Use 1 DP for 4k, and 2 DP and 1 HDMI for 1080p.

Well I use to use a GTX 560 and the GT 740 and when I plugged my GTX 560 into 3 monitors and tested some games for its time, I realized that the performance was terrible just to play on 1 monitor, when I plugged in my GT 740 and ran the external monitors off of it, the main monitor only running a GTX 560 ran better for a gaming performance as well as it was able to run some other games rather well better than before. Plus only my main monitor (4K) only has display port, my Dell 1080P monitor only has VGA, HDMI, my LG with VGA,  DVI, HDMI, and my TV is using HDMI. So its can't really use that without having to buy a adapter.

Having three extra 1080p monitors connected to the main GPU(s) won't make any real difference in gaming.

500th post!

I am not only gaming, I am also doing 4K video rendering, going to start on my Indie game design, and prob going to start using Photoshop. I plan to do more than just gaming with this rig since I spent quite a lot on it. Plus my monitors is rather limited with what it can connect to, not just that but my GT 740 is just a extra GPU going to collect dust and the one I got is less than a year old.
