Help! USB Wireless Adapter for Steam In-Home Streaming.

Go to solution Solved by BallisticPeanut,

My advice? Don't. You really want to stream over a wired connection, trust me.

If you have to?

It would be possible for me to go wired, but it'd require me route an ethernet cable all around my house -_-.  It'd actually be an interesting project, but for now I just want to see wireless is good enough for streaming.  And if its not good enough, I'll still have a decent wireless adapter for my laptop :).

I want to try In-Home Streaming on my laptop, but I'm having a hard time picking out a usb adapter that isn't too expensive, but will still be reliable for streaming.  The router I'm using is an ASUS RT-N56U so I am limited to 5Ghz Wireless N.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. :D

EDIT: On that TP link one, there should be a choice to select which model. There is a better one underneath that looks very similar.

Wireless usally gives half the speed of wired. Example with wired someone would get 5mbps while when you are on wireless you would get 2,5mbps.

I already know that wireless won't give me the full 300mbps. But the point is I just want to try it out and even if I don't like it I'll still have a decent wireless adapter. At the moment only my main desktop has a good wireless adapter. Every other computer in the house is running on wireless G.
