Portable Laptop

I'm looking for a laptop for about a grand or less (CAD). Since I live in Canada, things are more expensive here than in the US, so I'd appreciate Canadian prices. (NCIX and Newegg are preferred stores) It doesn't need to be super powerful(I won't be anything demanding on a laptop anyway.) However, I want something thin and portable with good battery life for traveling. A decent track pad is a plus, also I can't stand low res screens so 1080p is a requirement. Thanks for your help!

For under a grand I'd go with the Microsoft Surface 3. If you'd be willig to spend more I'd say get the Dell XPS 13! ( Which is Linuses primary laptop I think... )
