Blue Screen/Restart on boot

I Am Jarvis
Go to solution Solved by YoYo155,

Well by looking at those dumps and seeing how diverse they are, ranging from memory to critical processes dying suddenly to keyboard class drivers writing read-only memory (really?)
(along with some corrupted dumps) I can say it is in fact a bad stick(s).

If you want to find out which you should run memtest86+ for at least 8 passes on each stick individually and if that doesn't help then they must be failing in a multiple channel configuration.

Basically I updated my bios earlier, I have no idea why, it was a mistake.

And now my pc just goes to blue screen with different errors every time and there's nothing I can do.

These errors include "critical process died" and another one about threading or something.

Im really confused and its starting to put me off computers haha.

If you need any other information tell me.

Try downloading your previous BIOS and installing that instead. Was the one you just upgraded to the most recent, which was specific for your mobo?

Yeah, I used internet flash so it was most recent, which is version 2.70

I tried downloading previous bios versions and putting them on memory stick but it kept saying it could find the image...

Post the dump file!

Download HBCD and boot into miniXP then upload the dump files located:

C:\windows\minidump\*.*

I'll have a look inside, that way we will smarter on what might be the problem.

The purpose of a bugcheck is to protect your data.

Could you at least post a picture of the crash?

Well this one is no use for us, sorry I should have been more apecific.

To prevent the system automatic restart this is what you do:

When booting press 'F8' multiple times.

At the advanced boot options highlight "Disable automatic restart on system failure"

and hit enter.

Now it won't restart until you reset it.

Don't give up just yet.

Right, try going into the BIOS and set the SATA mode to the opposite of what it is right now  and then try to boot into miniXP.

It doesn't bugcheck when the HDD/SSD isn't connected does it?

I find it hard to believe that it won't let you get to the "Advanced boot options" menu.

Because if it bugchecks it means it's done with the P.O.S.T and is trying to load windows.

What keyboard do you have and how is it connected to the motherboard?

Can you try again?

Ill disconnect everything that's not really needed and try again.

I have a Microsoft sidewinder x4, and its usb. It lets me go into bios and all that

is there any chance that the bios update ruined my motherboard. ill try a different one later one and see. it sucks not being able to use my computer

Sounds like the new bios as screwed up big time.

You need to find away of getting the old bios back on.

Maybe you could make your usb stick into a dos boot disk and try it that way.

Here you go,

The bios updates may have set the ram timings completely wrong, i am assuming you went into bios and re set them manually? if so could be that the ram was getting too much or too little voltage.
