Well, here's the build i'm planning to build as soon as I can afford it. It's very simple, nothing extreme or out of the ordinary.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1nUM1

Note this is my first build, so I don't want to watercool or do anything too fancy :3

I'll be using this build for medium-intensity gaming as well as video editing and 3D Generation.

If you guys don't like clicking links, Here's the list:

CPU: Intel i7-3770k
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LK
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz
SSD: Samsung 840 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 760 (SC version with ACX Cooler) 2GB
Case: Zalman z11 plus HF1
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80 PLUS Bronze (Note: I know that's a lot of wattage for a single-card system, but I have it so I can upgrade to 2 760's in the future)
Optical Drive: Asus RW Drive (Does it really matter what it is?)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Extra Parts:

NZXT Sentry Mesh fan Controller (Willing to find a better one, if a better one exists)
NZXT Sleeved orange LED kit (2M)

Total Cost (May Vary): $1350

What do you guys think?

Current Edits: Will be switching to Haswell. A 4770K
New Motherboard: AsRock z87 Pro 3
Changed CPU Cooler to Corsair h100i.

Unless you have a legitimate need for it, I'd drop the CPU to an i5-3570k (Haswell is always a good option too, if you want to consider) and throw in an H100i. I don't recall how loud the Hyper 212 EVO is, but I just like the aesthetics of a CPU block and rad much more, even if it isn't much better performance.

Personal preference though!

CPU: i5 4670k • Cooler: Corsair H100i • Motherboard: MSI Z87 MPOWER • RAM: Crucial Ballistix Elite 2x 8GB • Storage: Samsung 840 250GB SSD, 2x WD Red 3TB • GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB • PSU: Corsair RM750W • Case: Corsair 750D • Mouse: Razer Naga 2012 (I actually use the thing for productivity/media buttons) • Keyboard: Ducky Shine 3 w/ Browns - Green LED • Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27" 2560 x 1440, ASUS PB238Q 23" 1920x1080 • Lighting: 2m NZXT Sleeved Blue LED Strip • pcpartpicker.com/p/3cHfZ

I currently have the i7-3770 (Non K) In my system right now, and It performs like a beast. I do a lot of rendering so I think I would need it.

As for watercooling, I'm not sure whether I should try it... I don't really mind loud fans. I'll consider it though. Watercooling DOES look better, I'll admit that :P

I'ld ditch the fan controller, You'll set your fans at a speed and never touch it again, just a waste of money really, Maybe look at getting a splitter cable or pcb and run at a constant voltage, if it's too loud throw some 7v adapters on them. Much cleaner in terms of cable management that way too :)

I'ld also look into getting a 60 gig SSD and running it as a cache? Personal preference here really but I prefer this way as you don't have to worry about which drive to install things on :)

Also 7950 is better than a 760 by a long shot.

I find that I like fan controllers simply as a personal choice. I like to rev up my fans for no apparent reason while the computer is hard at work, it just makes it sound like it's working hard XD

Sorry, what do you mean by cache for a 60GB SSD? :/

I'm a bit of a NVidia fanboy, so I kinda want to go with a 760 :P I know it'll cost more, but I never really understood AMD Completley.....

Sorry, what do you mean by cache for a 60GB SSD? :/

Look up "hybrid hard drive." It's basically a compromise between the super-fast speeds of SSD and the storage capacity of an HDD. Essentially, it keeps some most used files in an SSD cache for easier retrieval.

Couple of suggestions:

Alternative to 4770/3770k is FX-8350. It performs pretty well.

H60 at very least for cooler

RID OF FAN CONTROLLER :)

Grab a 7970 w/ recent price drops.

Sounds interesting, is it difficult to set up?

You can also buy premade hybrid drives.

Not at all! You can use any hard drive you want and any ssd up to 60gb that you want and Intel actually has the software ready to go for you. Look up Intel Smart Response caching.

Alright then, what are some good 60GB SSD's?

You will have problems with that board, ive seen too many people have issues with it so i wouldnt recommend it. Get a gigabyte board that is in the same price range. Also why not haswell, there are z87 motherboards which come with free water coolers.

What kind of problems?

Broken cpu pins, pci lanes not providing correct bandwidth or breaking. I think i remember one guy a while ago saying his power phase exploded with this board. I never touch asus boards lower then sabertooth or rog. They tend to screw over the quality but im just one person, if you want to go with that board then be my guest. Another problem which ive had multiple problems with is how bollocks asus's customer service is. Ive built a fair number of pcs and replaced over 200 parts of those some are asus and a few bits break from each company as those things happen from time to time. Gigabyte rma very quickly and so do EVGA(but its a mistake that a got a mobo from them). Asus however said they would rma my products, they took the products, sent one back after 6 months and i havent heard at all about the others. 5 products and around £300 down the drain. One reason as to my if you getting a standard asus product then i would recommend you to play it safe. I email them every 2 weeks about teh other products so that i can at least sell them because a refund was refused.  This is one of the reasons as to why a company like Palit is beating Asus.

That one looks pretty good, I found it at my local retailer for a slightly higher cost. Added it to the partpicker list, but I'll keep the list on here the same.

Any particular reason why you guys recommend Haswell chips? I thought the only main advantage was lower power consumption.... Am I wrong?

They're about 10-15% faster than Ivy bridge and are only slightly more expensive.

Better motherboards on average as well.

I like the Motherboard + Haswell chip, but the RAM just doesn't look nice in my opinion, and I really dont need a 770 (I don't play games with that intensity)

I also don't really need a PSU with that wattage anyway if I don't get a 770.

I really like the Motherboard!

Anything with aggressive style heatfins?

As long as they aren't flat, they're fine.

I would also prefer 4 DIMMs instead of 2, just so it fills up all the RAM Slots (These are all just personal opinions)

EDIT: Congratz, you just wasted your 4,000th post on my thread XD
