I'm about to get RMA for my faulty motherboard. I would like to know other than setting the RAM to XMP when i get my new motherboard. Is there anything else I should do in the BIOS? I have a crucial m4 and WD Black.

I'm not very good at doing the BIOS stuff and all I know is to make sure my RAM is running at the right timings and setting it to XMP is the easiest so I dont have to mess with anything.

What do you guys do to the BIOS when you first get a new motherboard?

Most 1600Mhz ram XMP profiles run at 1.65v which is bad if you are running an Ivy Bridge or a Sandy Bridge cpu since its exceeding Intel's maximum voltage of 1.575v. I would leave it imo because you won't really notice a difference as the motherboard does not require an XMP profile in order to detect the correct timings. Some ram manufactures like Kingston advertise their ram with the XMP profile which is a bit misleading imo.
