First Build

didk0

Hello all , I am new to the forum  and would like to inquire your vast knowledge to check if something is wrong with my first build.

The rig will be used primarily for gaming(1440p 60fps+) with a little bit of video editing.

What resolution and refresh rate are you gaming at?

I personally would go with a Noctua NH-U14S, better cooling, quieter, and no risk of leakage.

1440p 60 fps +, The CPU cooler is not final and I was considering the Noctua

I chose the sli 980 because a single 980 wouldn't be able to keep 60 fps + on 1440p ,

4790k is because i will be doing some video editing on the rig and i would  pay the 100$ premium for it over the i5

The ssd i because i want to play with a PCIe ssd.

I will probably game on 1440p G-sync monitor but not sure which one yet.

1440p / 144hz?

for gaming you won't see any benefit with that ssd

you should tell us your budget and go on pcpartpicker.com to make your actual list of parts so we can give our recommendations more easily

doesn't worth the extra money when you actually can get a better monitor/gpu and name it instead
