You have more than enough power to drive 4K. That's what I would do.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

In the market for either have two 980 ti's sli is 4k that much better???

1440p 144Hz IPS or TN FTW. 4k is better but I wanted a constant frame rate higher than 60fps. I noticed the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz right away. Also if you go for a 144Hz make sure to put a custom fan profile on those cards because the idle temps will be higher. I tested it last night with my Titan X SLI.

Love cats and Linus. Check out linuscattips-fan-club. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z9QDVn and Asus ROG Swift. I love anime as well. Check out Heaven Society heaven-society. My own personal giveaway thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/387856-evga-geforce-gtx-970-giveaway-presented-by-grimneo/.

I got a gsync monitor. I got the Asus Rog Swift or if you want IPS you can get the ACER XB270HU. They are both around $800. Up to you.
