Optimizing chrome?

So, i have 8 cores, 16gb ram, 240gb SSD and a r9 290. Yet, sometimes, chrome isn't running as smooth as I would want... (omfg Tumblr?!) xD The problem isn't that I want it to use less resources, I want it to use MORE, assuming that it would increase performance.

So my question to you, beautiful human, is: Any tips on ways to increase performance? Any way/extention that will make my experience better? :)

Used this "guide", not sure if it's placebo or not but it seems smoother. Although i'm sure that images load a lot faster, I had fb, twitter, forum and netflix open, opened 10 tumblr tabs of random peoples archives (with a bunch of images and gifs across the screen) and they actually loaded a lot faster.
