Does Evga precision X allow for real overvolting of the GPU?

I think so

Mhmm, I've tried pushing 150 on the core and 500 on the mem, managed the mem well but not the core to be quite honest, would only eventually handle 400 and 85+ on the core with the total being at around 1267Mhz. (Gtx660)

I might be wrong here but I believe that EVGA precision declares an offset the GPU is allowed to go over the stock settings so if it's doesn't over volt the core, it's means that more voltage isn't needed.

 

I could be remembering wrong so if anyone else could confirm or deny this it would be awesome :)
