Since most people are telling me to go with a 9970 does anyone know what month it will be out?

Most rumors point to October

That is from last year, nVidia has fixed that problem already. It was also done under different testing methodology which was proven to be incorrect. Check the NEW benchmarks I posted before.

Ok hadn't seen anything more recent about all that since that article I linked.

Like I said before, seriously consider going with a single card option. I am a single card proponent, because like Emperor said, the 690 did have issues. Any SLI system might. If a game/driver isn't optimized, it just won't be an amazing experience where as a single card pretty much always gets the job done. But as far as multi card configurations go, nVidia currently isn't having devastating issues like AMD.

Also, from what I have heard, the 9000 series will not fix the crossfire issues either. The issue was brought to their attention after those cards were being produced from what I heard. If so, there still is no hardware change that will help the situation. I am not sure on this, so definitely wait until they come out and are tested to know for sure whats up.

Well I like the 2 cards because it looks more epic also it is good for bragging rights.

Two cards is fine for nVidia, they don't have issues anymore (drivers fixed everything). The only "microstuttering" issues you have with them are when the game isn't optimized for ANY SLI/CF setup and that isn't going to be alleviated by either team. If you must go dual card RIGHT NOW for bragging rights and need to stay in budget SLI 770 are the only option.

I love bragging rights as well, so SLI that ish! At least that way you can say you are getting lots of FPS, not just lots of heat ;)

Not necessarily. The 7970 is pretty damn cheap right now: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100351sr

Okay, first off wait until September/October and get 9000 series cards, All in all here's what i would do

CPU:  AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor  ($179.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler:  Swiftech H220 55.0 CFM  Liquid CPU Cooler  ($150.98 @ Newegg)
Motherboard:  Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z ATX  AM3+ Motherboard  ($214.99 @ Amazon)
Memory:  Mushkin Blackline 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($119.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage:  Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($214.99 @ NCIX US)
Case:  Corsair Air 540 ATX Full Tower Case  ($129.15 @ Amazon)
Other: Best configuration of 9000 Series cards available ($800.00)
Total: $1967.07

Okay, so depending on luck that cpu should go over 5 ghz (H220 Is awesome), 9000 Series cards are gonna be awesome (AMD has been working on this a long time you know), getting two 9970's Should be beast and around 800$. Throw some extra fans in there if you'd like. PSU Is really nice, even though it's not platinum - plenty of headroom for CF.
Parts are interchangable.

Stuff I have I like: Moto G - Superlux HD681 Evo - Monoprice 9927

90% of what I say is sarcasm.

Why do people not realize newegg can't sell the h220? It says out of stock on the website and they won't get anymore new ones.

I think you should consider grabbing a 500 Gb HDD. Just having a 256 gb SSD will not be enough space for booting Windows, Storing any music or movies, Any extra programs you may need, And all your games you most likely planning on buying. It would be best for using the SSD for Windows and any games.

CPU: i5 2500k@4.1 Ghz| Motherboard: ASUS P8P67-M | Memory: Patriot G2 8Gb (2x4gb) @ 1333Mhz | Storage: Western Digital Blue 500Gb | PSU: Corsair HX750 | CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Casing: Cooler Master 690 ii | GPU: EVGA 660 Ti Sc 3Gb GDDR5 @ 1178 Mhz |

You don't need a 840 pro, if its only for gaming the non-pro version is enough, you will spend extra money for more write speed and you even not gonna use. Get the 840 non-pro

Nobody said a word about New Radeons coming out this year. Crossfire is still a huge issue. Why would somebody go for Radeons when they can afford a quality Nvidia 780 or SLI?

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU

I've personally never noticed micro stutter on AMD cards.

this is a case where It's personal opinion.

He obviously prefers AMD, so recommend AMD cards to him.

if He Liked Nvidia, he would have changed the list by now.
