Another "recommend a case for me" thread

solomongrundy

Looking to upgrade from an Antec P180.  I have loved this case for it's understated looks but I want to move the components into a more cable management friendly case. And also something that has decent water cooling capabilities for the future. I'm currently using a Silver Arrow.

Any recommendations with similar (if not smaller) dimensions to the P180? These are the current dimensions 21.3"(H) x 19.9"(D) x 8.1"(W)

Price range ...I don't know..159 USD or less? Something in this ballpark anyway.

Thanks

nzxt phantom, its not for everyone. Better temps then the R4 but its louder but not by much. Well it does look badass as well.

I don't feel like looking for sizes but some of my favorite looking cases are;

Switch 810, Air 540, 650D, 350D, Shinobi Window, Shinobi WIndow XL, R4 Window

I like clean cases with big windows.

Whats the point of an R4 if you get a window, its  built to suppress sound and the window stops that.

Because it looks good? Has good features? Don't care about the sound? Still has decent dampening more than most cases? Priced well? Lots of reasons really.

thanks for the suggestion guys.

I'll take a look at the ones listed here and make a decision.

I like the Corsair stuff but it seems like everybody and their dog has a 650D.

Shinobi is another one that caught my eye.

I've built a system in a R4 for somebody and I loved that case too...very easy to work with...but that thing is a monster of a case relatively speaking compared to my P180. i'm looking to keep it around the same size if not smaller.

don t get the shinobi, it got no watercooling support, cable management is horible and fan filters are even worse.

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

ATX Portable rig (smaller than prodigy(LOL)) :  Nmedia 2800 | Gigabyte Z77x-ud3h  | Corsair HX1000 | Scythe Big Shuriken | i5 3570K  |  XFX R9 290 DoubleD | Corsair Vengeance 32GB

ok...so shinobi is scratched off the list.  I'll probably end up with a 650D. Thanks

Also nobody mentioned the Bitfenix Ghost...seems like a contender.

zalman z11 plus is a beast of a case!

It's my case, its really really wide.... I actually had to move it from where my old case was, id rather say Zalman Z12....

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

I'm going to be putting my rig in a Cm Storm Scout 2 case and I believe there is plenty of room on the bottom for a res and you can throw a decent rad in the top with 2 140mm slots.

Here are some suggestions:

Corsair carbide 500r

Corsair carbide 400r

Define R4

Arc midi R2

I would personally get the arc midi R2 because it great watercooling potential, it looks good and it's $90.
