Arma and DayZ with a Pentium.. Uhhhm...

I personally wouldn't go higher than a R9 280 with that CPU

whats the best gpu i can get that wont make have shutter lag in games the cpu im using is a intel pentium g3258 clocked at 4ghz and i have a 500w power supply thanks if you need anymore specs let me know im going to be playing games like arma and day z thanks!.

That chip can be pushed beyond 4GHz, and by a fair bit.

Whilst that chip is very capable, it has the drawback of being a dual-core. Meaning that some AAA titles may be difficult to run on it. A good match would be a GTX 750 Ti/960, or if you go AMD then R7 360/370.

Any more powerful and you may find a fair amount of stuttering in-game.

I have never played DayZ or ARMA. I do, however, own a GTX 750 Ti that I got for cheap. It ran Dying Light pretty well with high textures and medium shadows, it was getting >60 fps.

DayZ and ARMA are very poorly optimised, so they don't run that well on ANY card, let alone the GTX 750 Ti.

good luck :P.

When I chucked my 750 Ti in my system to try it out (underneath my 970, the difference in size is comical), I ran Dying Light which was set to 1440p max settings. Butter smooth 15 fps!

Jesus xD, 750ti is ok for medium settings 1080p and that's about it :P

Go for the 285 or 380 man. That will be your top line. The 285/380 also has some more features that the 280 and 280X does not, so it is a solid choice from a feature standpoint too

It does perform very well at those settings, I was getting 60-70 fps.

But alas, my eyes have been opened to 1440p, so now my 750 Ti shall be reserved for a LAN rig, to drive a lowly 1080p native display. :')
