First Build, Please Help

Hey, going to build a comp for the first time, would be keen to get some advice. I was thinking of this - 

 

Intel Haswell Core i7 4790 3.6GHz Processor

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3      

750W EVGA SUperNOVA G2 Modular   

Gigabyte Bluetooth 4.0 + AC Wifi PCI-E

Cooler Master Nepton 120XL                      

LG External DVD Writer (USB 2.0)                                    

240GB Intel 730 Series 2.5" SSD                 

3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD                       

Zalman Z11                                                                

2x8GB Kingston HyperX Beast 

Gigabyte R929OC-4GD R9 290 WINDFORCE

Razer Chroma     

23" AOC Ultra Slim Monitor       

24" Asus 144Hz 1ms Gaming Monitor

 

Please help me out if something doesnt look right, or if there is a better option, I have no brand preference for AMD v Intel so just have at it and tell me what to do, thanks a millions guys

don't like the case. Zalman is never the best choice.

2 or 4TB barracuda has better reputation.

Samsung EVO would be cheaper and you wouldn't notice a difference.

the zalman z11 PLUS is fine, not bad although not awesome. It will suffice especially if OP thinks it looks good.

You picked a processor that can't be overclocked, and a board made specifically for overclocking.

ur motherboard is a board that supports overclocking but ur processor choice is not a K series processor. So you can't overclock it. Either buy the 4790K which can overclock or pick a different motherboard like a h97 board.

it all comes down to taste. If you like how the zalman looks then get it if you don't then get a different case something like the haf 912 or fractal design case

Get a 4690k then, stick with the rest of your build except that WiFi card, get one from Intel, and something like a Kraken X41 for a CPU cooler.

Intel WiFi card because they're rock stable and almost NEVER have problems. A non-Cooler Master cooler because CM stuff is kinda loud and not the best for what it costs.
