I need a new water cooler

I don't like Corsair Link on my H100i and I don't like all the cabling. I want to get a water cooler than can cool better, too. I have a 750D right now but I will be getting a new case like the Air 540 because the 750D is too big for the space I have.

you don't have to use it

Do you have to plug the cables in for it?

Yeah, it's probably not worth upgrading to another AIO. At most you'll see a degree or two difference. Corsair link isn't really a necessity besides changing the colors if my memory serves me right.
