Hi Guys.

am getting a new laptop for gaming ( yes i do need a laptop since i travel alot and desktop cannot provide for me what a laptop can.) and it comes with a i7-4710HQ 2.5Ghz turbo boost to 3.5ghz, GTX 970m 6gb and 12 GB ram.

all im asking is would i get a possible bottleneck from either my CPU or GPU when running intensive games like the new Batman and games like AC Unity.

i am aware of the current problems of newer games such as these but i dont want to see any comments about how their broken.

am looking to play these on High - ultra with a target of 40+ FPS (ive seen the 30FPS cap on Batman). i dont mind about things such as V-sync etc.

any and all help appreciated

if it helps, here is a list so far of the games i will be definitely purchasing

L4d

L4d 2

Shogun 2 Total war (including rise of the samurai and fall of the samurai)

Rome 2 Total war

Ryse: son of Rome

Batman Arkham knight

Assassin's Creed Unity

Counter Strike Global Offensive

Ranbow Six: Siege

Verdun

Arma 3

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare

Planetside 2

Napoleon Total War

Empire Total war

Any and all help appreciated

Everything will be fine. Good rule of thumb is if its an i5 or better intel it wont bottleneck anything. Now Batman is a joke right now but other wise that looks to be a rocking laptop. If you don't mind whats your price range?

Depending on the res of the screen you should be golden.

In something like that make sure there is an SSD though.. would be a sin to have only HDD.

As far as heat / thermal throttling, it will really depend on the specific laptop your getting.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..

Thanks so Much for responding so quick! i only ask because im coming from console (PS3 to be exact) and the tough part is getting my head around the Specifications for games that come out. i look at a game such as batman Arkham knight and it recommends a Quad core 3.4Ghz, but i dont see how my CPU is able to run it? im so used to just picking up a game and being able to play it.

my price range is between $2500 - $3000 im my currency is new zealand Dollars. i seen Desktops for less but more performance but Desktop doesnt provide me portability.
