After 1,5 years running the stock cooler on my fx 4350 i bougth an aftermarket cooler and as i proceeded to swap the stock cooler with the new one I couldn't remove it becuase the thermal paste was to hard and I was afraid I might damage the cpu ( the thermal paste has not been changed since the time i build the pc 1,5 years ago) So i want to know if there are any tips to help me remove it easier or should I just pull the cooler until it comes off?

Turn it to each sides till you can twist it faster and then pull (don't rotate while pulling off, sometimes the CPU stick to the thermal paste and comes out off the socket with the cooler)

This is a signature.

Wiggle it with some force and it should come out, then apply 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean out the Thermal compound. Then re-apply new thermal paste and place the new cooler.

Grab it on its sides (avoid touching the pins) and wiggle it moving it to one of the sides of the cooler till you get it.

Don't forget to move the retention arm to put the CPU back in the socket.
