Graphics Card Upgrade

Hi,

 

I currently have the 7870xt and am looking to upgrade, I play games at 1080p at the moment and want this upgrade to last for a long time, being able to max games for quite a few years. As a note my motherboard can only do Crossfire and not SLI. What card would everyone recommend, budget would be about £350 but I could save for longer if there is a better card higher up.

Maxing out games in a couple of years is unsure, it's a thing called futureproofing, and futureproofing doesn't exist.

I would recommend a GTX 970 (or AMD equivalent) or a 980 Ti if you can save for a while.

What is the price of the 390 just released by AMD?

It's better than the 970 and a little cheaper here in Denmark.

At this price point i can't suggest the 970. But the 390x isn't worth it.

The R9 390. If you cant find any at the right price get the R9 290/x.

290X's have dropped in price and are a good choice.

390X's is in your price range so that's a good choice too with all dat vram for days.

I went 970 and have been super happy, even GTA i'm running higher than I should and loving it. Don't have a AMd card to compare but i'm such it'll be a similar experience

What about a 980, as I have seen those for around £380~£400?
